Acrysof Toric Lens
The Acrysof Toric Lens offers a better option for quality distance vision for cataract patients with astigmatism. The Acrysof Toric Lens has the ability to reduce or eliminate corneal astigmatism at the same time it corrects cataracts. The result is typically improved vision distance vision, and less dependence on eyeglasses or contacts for distance vision. The Acrysof Toric Lens also filters out harmful ultraviolet and blue light.

What is the Acrysof Toric Lens?
The Acrysof Toric Lens is a foldable, single piece lens that is implanted during cataract surgery to replace the clouded lens. The unique design of the Acrysof Toric Lens makes it possible to reduce or eliminate corneal astigmatism and significantly improve uncorrected distance vision. Acrysof Toric Lens provides quality distance vision, independent of eyeglasses and contact lenses.

The Acrysof Toric Lens is made of the same biocompatible lens material already in use and successfully implanted in more than 25million eyes since 1991.

The traditional IOL replacements used when a cataract is removed clear the vison, but are unable to correct the astigmatism. Corrective eyewear and additonal surgeries are needed to reduce the blurring and distortion. With the Acrysof Toric Lens there is no need for additional surgeries or eyewear to address the astigmatism problem.

How does the Toric IOL work?
The ACRYSOF® Toric IOLs are used in adult patients with corneal astigmatism who have undergone cataract removal.

The ACRYSOF® Toric IOL is intended to be positioned in the posterior chamber of the eye, replacing the natural lens. This position allows the IOL to correct the visual impairment of aphakia (absence of the natural lens). The ACRYSOF® Toric IOL has a biconvex optic that is shaped to provide both spherical and astigmatic correction.

The ACRYSOF Toric IOLs have been shown in a clinical study to provide good uncorrected distance in patients who have undergone cataract surgery.

There are no known contraindications.
